Description
Join the Canadian Apparel Federation for this webinar on the new revenue model for CBSA.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is nearing an important milestone in its efforts to reform the revenue system managing import duty and tax collection for imported goods.
For many years, the agency has been attempting to implement the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM). Over the past few years, importers have received a lot of (frequently contradictory) information on this program.
What is clear now is that implementation will go forward in October and the transition period will start on October 4, 2024. While the system will apply to all importers it will will have specific impacts on companies in the apparel sector.
The session will feature:
A concise overview of CARM, its implications for importers, and especially the implications for this industry - presented by Bennett Jones.
A panel discussion that will identify and discuss the specific challenges that CARM presents for importers in the apparel sector.
The panel will include:
Dave Pentland, Carson International
Candace Sider, Livingston
Amy Rose CH Robinson
Sarah Marcotte , GHY
For companies that register, but cannot attend the live session, the webinar will be recorded and video will be distributed to all registered attendees.
