CAF Webinar: Trade Policy Update

 The Canadian Apparel Federation (CAF) will present a detailed update on important trade and sourcing issues affecting the sector. 

The webinar will cover a variety of important trade programs and agreements affecting Canada’s trade landscape, including:

TRADE

  • North American free trade - status of CUSMA renewal
  • North American free trade - US Tariffs
  • LDC Program - changes taking effect Jan. 1, 2025
  • Canada-Indonesia FTA
  • CP-TPP issues (Vietnam)
  • CBSA policy re. customs valuation
  • Other trade agreements/issues

RESPONSIBLE SUPPLY CHAINS

We will also discuss recent initiatives by the Canadian government to promote responsible supply chains, these include: 

  • Canada’s Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE)
  • Forced Labour - Government of Canada consultation
  • Changes to the Supply Chains Act (Bill S-211) reporting
  • Other legislation
